Sky Insurance co-host SupraPod with MkIV Supra Owners Club
The MkIV Supra Owners Club have held an event called ‘SupraPod’ for a number of years now, the event has always been a great success and for 2012 Sky Insurance have agreed to co-host the event to show our continued support for car clubs. Awesome Fest - a film by Stephen Brooks
As Sky Insurance pride themselves in being The Modified Car Insurance Specialists, we also support and sponsor events that highlight and promote high performance and modified cars, such as the fantastic Awesome Fest weekend organised by Driftworks in July 2011. Awesome Fest was a weekend of extreme sports and music, including Drifting Sessions, Passenger Rides, MotoX, Fearless Ramp Parks, Mini-Bikes, Drifting at Night, Skateboarding, Paintballing, a Funfair and a great selection of DJ sets in The Sky Insurance Sound Stage tent. It was a truly brilliant weekend event for car enthusiasts like ourselves and it has been captured by the legend that is Stephen Brooks in his film here - this film will certainly wet your appetite for next year's event.

Modified Car Insurance - The Main Insurance Issues
Most owners of modified cars must be wondering ‘why all the fuss’ - a few changes from the original model of the car and every insurance company in town runs a mile or wants to charge a fortune in premium. Understandable, if the car has been modified totally and no longer looks (or performs) anything like the original car model, you could appreciate that it becomes harder for the insurance company to categorise the vehicle - and in turn, this may effect their ability to assess the vehicle’s valuation and the difficultly to repair any damage parts - not to mention the increased theft risk.
Some of the main issues that insurance companies have with modified cars are:
- value
- theft risk
- replacement parts
- drivers may be termed high risk
At Sky Insurance, we believe there are two ways of looking at this (1) it could be seen as a negative, as any claim for vehicle damage would not be standard and the driver could be categorised as higher risk, as someone who is trying to push their car further than a normal driver, or (2) the driver is passionate about their car and is more likely to take better care of it than a normal standard driver. We feel in the majority of cases, option (2) is the correct one and we therefore set our modified car premiums accordingly - this is why we are known throughout so many forums as the modified car insurance specialists.

Sky the best once more. Have already got my Skyline insured with Sky Insurance and figured I'd give them a quick try for my daily derv runner. Emailed Ollie and within a hour or so I'd had a call back from Kevin. After a quick convo with him they beat any price the comparison websites could throw at me - top bloke and even the policy excesses are lower than all of the higher quotes which was a bonus. I was surprised, to say the least, as didn't think they'd do much on a normal daily runner compared to the RX7's and Skylines etc but they definitely managed it in my case. Great Service from the Modified Car Insurance Specialists - Sky Insurance
I have had the GTO off the road for a year as was inbetween jobs. It was quite a shock to the system to find the premiums up by 50% when getting quotes to reinsure. The best of the bunch yesterday was with A plan once again who I have been with for some time, but that was a rise from £310 to £450 and I had to cancel insurance on another car to get my no claims back to the GTO and then get a mirrored discount on that car for the no-claims now on the GTO. A lot of faffing about and a rise in premium for the second car. Had a call back from Sky this morning and they arranged to mirror the existing bonus on the second car, so no messing with that policy, and quoted me £435 on the GTO so very happy. Great service fast and efficient. To sum up, thankyou Sky

Took out insurance with Sky today. Very good price and very good service, quickly done over the telephone (Ollie - Daniel was top bloke) and all should be well. Got my business mileage included and my mods not just declared but like for like. All this for basically the same price as the other policies but with a much lower excess! Top work lads!

Modified Car Insurance Policy Holder
Just took out my insurance with Sky Insurance. With my car modifications declared, wheels, trunk mount intercooler, fuel system, gt30 turbo, clutch, cams, forged engine, engine management system, etc. I am 27 with 9 years no claims bonus and a SP30. Got really good cover with protected no claims, legal cover, courtesy car. I spoke to Luke and he was spot on, knew all about modifications so it was an easy job getting the quote. He also sold me insurance for my 307 too which was cheap!
